Analysing short films - the fly

 representation - Men are aggressive and violent. They are also irrational


Micro elements -

sound - sounds of the 3 guys robbing the bank when the door is in picture so we know the robbery is happening 

mise en scene - All set in the car, gun shows how out of control he is when annoyed by the fly

cinematography - close ups of his face when he freaks out about the fly to show his aggression

performance - his body movements show that he can't contain his anger

editing - when hitting the fly, editing pace gets quicker


narrative - 3 act structure, traditional. Open ending as the story wasn't resolved when the film finished

messages - stay calm in tricky situations and don't get distracted. Don't get mad over a fly.
