analysing short films - tight jeans

 Representation - talks about race like how black men have bigger dicks than white men, how white girls are into black men to have a mixed baby as a free ticket into the black community etc.


narrative - not much narrative as it is just kids talking and having fun


Micro elements 

cinematography - close ups of their clothing and shoes to show part of their culture is that they are always wearing nice shoes no matter what clothing they're wearing.

editing - time lapse at the start to show what life is like in the setting of where the film is taken place.

sound - London grime tune playing at the start to set the mood of the culture and where they live.

Mise en scene - run down London area, showing how they are living.

performance - body language and facial expressions showing how close all 3 of them are


meanings and messages - no matter where you live, you always have friends and can have fun

representation - the struggles of homosexuality and being transgender Microelements : cinematography - handheld camera when in room with him, makes us feel like we are in there with him editing - shot/reverse shot when they are in the bedroom talking to each other performance - the way contrast from when he is doing the boxing and with his gf to doing makeup and dressing up really shows how well he hides being transgender.  mise en scene - the neighbourhood is a bit dodgy and run down making him more scared to come out because he won't be accepted and will be beaten up like his gay friend. sound - in the final scene where he boxes the lad and doesn't stop, quite disturbing non diegetic music plays but there is no diegetic sound which puts us in the position of him because it is like he can't hear anything because he is releasing his rage into tho guy. meanings and messages - how difficult it is to be trans or homosexual this might influence me in the way where in some scene...
