analysing student film

the silence

three act structure - didn't really apply to this as it just increased in suspense and didn't really stop

characters - one person who hung themselves, two parents

cinematography - close ups of bloody money, Rubik's cube

editing - long shots of various items, adds suspense of what the meaning is

mise en scene - random items to confuse audience, setting of house

sound - voice over of the dad, non diegetic eery music to add suspense

performance - not much as it was always scenes of items

I think  it is very successful as it grips the audience even with the same shots and building tension

I think I may use the no dialogue because that way it is a better watch for the audience.

Karoshi

characters - one person who acts as two people

cinematography - close ups of his face when sending the email to the show the emotion in his face

editing - dissolve from the to dream

mise en scene - different outfits between the two versions of him to show how different they are

sound - uplifting music to show its a comedy

performance - the distraught in his face when sending that hateful email

three act structure - 1st is him making his tea, second is his dream, 3rd is him when he is out of the dream

I think there are a few sound problems but everything else like cinematography is great.

I think I won't use anything as I'm going for a more darker theme
